IIT Delhi Highlights 2026
IIT Delhi was established in 1961 and later declared as Institution of National Importance. Indian Institute of Technology Delhi has been ranked 4 under the 'Overall' category and 2 under the 'Engineering' category by the NIRF Ranking 2025. The popular programmes offered at IIT Delhi include BTech and MTech. IIT Delhi is planning to open its campus in Abu Dhabi. IIT-Delhi Abu Dhabi campus is the first step taken towards internationalising India’s education. According to the press report of April 17, 2025 released by IIT Delhi Delhi, UG students of the Institute have secured 850 unique offers during the placement drive 2025. The number of unique offer this year has increased as compared with previous three years. Core (Technical) sector emerged as the top recruiting sector that placed 34% of the total students during IIT Delhi placement 2025. Yes, IIT Delhi accepts GATE/CEED/UGC/CSIR/DBT/ICMR entrance exam scores for admission to different specialisations offered under the IIT Delhi PhD programme. Candidates shortlisted based on the exam score can be called for an interview round by some of the departments. The accepted exam can vary depending upon the chosen PhD specialisation.
IIT Delhi OBC cutoff 2025 for JEE Advanced is yet to be released. However, during the last round cutoff in 2024, the JEE Advanced closing ranks for BTech admission varied between 89 and 3185 in the All India quota. In the first round, the cutoff ranks were more competitive for admission compared to the final round. Therefore, based on last year's cutoff ranks, a JEE Advanced rank of 7000 does not allow for admission at IIT Delhi for any BTech or Integrated BTech courses for students belonging to the OBC AI category.
50 students received domestic offers with package more than INR 1 crore per annum during the IIT Delhi placement drive 2023. Further, the highest international package offered during IIT Delhi placements 2023 stood at INR 2.5 crore per annum.
